Our December meeting will be held via Zoom on Saturday, Dec. 12th at 10:30. I am including the link below. We will have a show and tell session and a program from the Surface Design Association  https://www.surfacedesign.org/  on the Mandator Color Panel Discussion. Susan Sharpe is a member and can introduce this and discuss the benefits of being a member.

The Holiday Market is going on downtown in the space where we exhibited in October, so if you are looking for  a unique gift, be sure and check this out. Amber was even talking about offering a virtual shopper option.

Don’t forget our meeting tomorrow at the space behind Doe Ridge Pottery and via Zoom. We will have a business meeting first and then do a tour of our show. Don’t forget that we are open this weekend and next plus we now have access to open the gallery at anytime if you wanted to have a private showing with someone (family, friends from out of town, etc.)

We have also been requested by the Art Gallery to have a Local night this coming Thursday from 5-8. We will be discussing this tomorrow.

Our next guild meeting will be held next Saturday the 24th of October at 10:30 via Zoom. We will show you our exhibit at Watauga Collective Arts. See you there!

Here are photos from the 1st weekend of our show. I took pictures as I knew everyone would be anxious to see what’s been done. The lighting is bad on some of these but hopefully we will have better lighting installed soon. First two days were successful. We made a few sales.

The show looks wonderful. We have over 100 entries which was surprising given the short notice!

We will be having our Sept. meeting at the Florence Art School in West Jefferson at 10 AM. We need to start our meeting a little earlier so that we can be in the gallery before it opens to the public. Here is their website: https://www.florenceartschool.org/. There are directions on the website. We will be showing our exhibit there and have a Gallery talk. Please join us in person if you would like or join us on Zoom. Our next guild meeting is tomorrow at 10:30 via Zoom.  I have sent the link in my email. We will start with a business meeting and Show and Tell. Then at 11 we have a great program for you. Jeana Eve Klein, Fiber Art Instructor at ASU, will present a program featuring her work. She had work featured in the BRAHM exhibit last year—the large quilted piece at the entrance and several small stitched pieces. Her work is both personal and political. We have decided with the recent spike in COVID cases to hold this month’s meeting on Zoom. We will start at 12:30. Susan S. and I will broadcast together from her studio in Sugar Grove. We will do Show and Tell and will also discuss ikat dying and inkle weaving. I have a video on inkle weaving that I could possibly show.

The response to meet next Saturday was overwhelming to meet at Hickory Ridge at 12:30. Bring your on chair (I think there are some benches we can set up too), drinks etc. We will be practicing Social Distancing. We are going to do a program on Drop Spindling for fun. Susan S and I have a variety of different spindles we can bring for you to use or you can bring your own.  We will have them disinfected for your use. We will also have fiber available. If rain is in the forecast, we will do another Zoom call.
