September 17th Guild Meeting

Join us next Saturday, the 17th, 10:30 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church (downtown Boone) for our September guild meeting. We will be saving plenty of time for sharing your creations and look forward to seeing what you’ve been up to recently. And bring a snack to share!

Beth's Wool EmbroideriesThe program will be sharing the process I used making hand sewn ornaments featuring the 12 Days of Christmas by Larissa Holland. You can find her at mmmcrafts.blogspot.com, Bring your good “fabric” scissors if you’d like to make a pear. All other materials will be furnished.

Hopefully you’ve had a chance to visit Edgewood Cottage last week to view our 11 members who exhibited. It was a stunning show! Thank you to Susan Payne and Susan Sharpe and to everyone else who has worked to make this show a success. We are grateful for your diverse talents.

See you soon,
Beth

PS. There is an ASU football game at 3:30. We
will be finished in plenty of time to get out
of the way!

This is from me (Rhonda)
I was at the Cancer Center yesterday and asked about needs for hats and they said to bring them so you can drop them by the center yourself or get them to me to take. They didn’t have specific requirements but you would need to use a soft washable yarn. I would suspect that hats for men are especially needed.

For Project Linus, I dropped our donations off to the person in Hendersonville when I went to the Anything Fiber Sale so I will take the box for that back to the Art Center when I go for banjo on Thursday so you can start filling it up again.

Thanks,
Rhonda

May Meeting Program

BRFG members enjoyed an inspiring program by Susan Payne in May.  Susan shared her inspiring collection of “stash slashing” quilts and had many of us motivated to try her process!

Hickory Ridge Fiber Frolic May 7, 2022

Although the weather was damp and chilly, the enthusiasm more than made up for it.  The audience was treated to knowledge and hands on demonstrations at Hickory Ridge Fiber Frolic.  Several members of BRFG shared their expertise and love of their craft.  Here’s hoping this will become an annual event!
