In lieu of a face to face meeting, members are invited to participate in MAFA’s showing of The Nettle Dress (register here), followed by a discussion by textile artist Allan Brown, who spends seven years making a dress by hand, using only the fiber of locally foraged sting nettles. This is “hedgerow couture,” the greenest of slow fashion and also his medicine. It is how he survives the death of his wife Alex and how he finds a beautiful way to honor her.
